With its minimalistic and sustainable approach, the Munich label has a clear and bold vision about where to head to.
HACOY brand convinces us to combine comfort with business.
The breathable linen fabric is comfortable to wear not only in summer but also now in the cooler season. With a precious reference to Medieval costume in 'Bipartì' model proposed in their iconic piece, the linen dual shirt.
The minimalist design with color accents is ideal for a professional and convincing appearance in online meetings.
Hacoy is unisex designed and represents the ideal contemporary effortless chic in the zoom meetings era we are currently living in. We had a lovely chat with Hacoy founder, Maximilian Rupp.
With your minimalistic approach, what do you mean by combining sustainability and business?
With smart decisions, innovation, and morals we are trying to create fashion that people will enjoy and have a low negative impact on the environment and the people involved. Sustainability does not only mean caring about the environment at HACOY, we put people and their working conditions first. This is also why we call ourselves the "Ethical Fashion Brand".
How would you define your style DNA, since you are a newcomer in the industry?
This question should be asked to the designer of the Brand, Romana Tricoli – but I would say minimalistic, timeless, innovative, and attention-seeking.
Where is possible to buy your items?
We currently sell exclusively in our Onlineshop and occasionally have pop-up stores for clients to explore the products in person. Our next pop-up shop is in Barcelona on the 16th of July for one day only. We have had some requests from concept stores, so we are thinking about starting a wholesale channel.
Are you thankful to someone in particular all over your career and you would like to tell her/him why?
I would have to say thank you to my girlfriend Isabelle, as she is the reason why I started caring about how I styled myself, helped me build my self-confidence to wear whatever I want, and supports me in anything I want to pursue.
How is your studio?
Our studio is in my apartment at home in Munich. I am lucky to have a separate room for storing our products and samples, brainstorming, and working at the computer. We have a lot of daylight and I occasionally invite guests and interested clients to show them some insights into how we do our everyday work.
Favorite color?
Orange. A lot of my furniture at home is orange, it gives me a fresh feeling.
Cousine?
My favorite food is truffle pasta. Sorry, I'm a fancy boy.
The genre of movie?
Nicholas sparks movies. I am a sucker for romantic drama.
Something more about you.
I generally love making people laugh, dancing in clubs while spilling drinks.
How is seen fashion in Lithuania?
Linen fashion is very popular in Lithuania because they are the experts when it comes to the Fabric. The people have understood how useful the fabric is and how comfortable it feels to wear, especially in the summer. Playing with colors and remaining minimalistic is probably how I would best describe fashion in Lithuania.
Do you expect to remain there or you would love to see your creations in the fashion capitals?
We produce in Lithuania however our business is in Munich, Germany. We produce our linen collection in Lithuania and will remain to do so in the future, as we have partnered up with an amazing production partner and can rely on a great relationship.
Last, but not least, your life motto right now.
'A wolf does not lose sleep about the sheep's opinion'. Or something like that (smiles, DN). Anyway, don't worry about what people think or say about you – you can't STOP that from happening, but you can stop it from bothering you.
